The Technology and Enterprise Learning Area is a highly practical area in which students are encouraged to express themselves and develop skills in decision making and problem solving through the media of foods, textiles, wood, metal, plastics and information technology. It provides students with opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in a practical and enterprising way, using a variety of resources.
Activities in this Learning Area involve ‘enterprise’, which is the ability to identify needs and opportunities through a variety of situations and to take action that will be of benefit to society and the individual. The T&E area is comprised of three departments; Design and Technology, Home Economics and Information Technology.

Applied Information Technology
The Year 8 students participate in three areas, Design and Technology, Home Economics and Information Technology for one semester each. The Technology (design) Process is the main outcome for study in all three areas. Other outcomes that may be covered are Materials, Information and Systems.
The Year 9 and 10 students make optional selections from a broad range of subjects: Multimedia; Childcare; Creative Woodwork; Foods for Modern Living; Jewellery; Mechanical Workshop; Cooking with Attitude; Gamemaker and Technical Drawing.
