DRSC Is Now A Positive Behaviour Support School

Darling Range Sports College (DRSC) is proud to announce that it is now a Positive Behaviour Support school (PBS).

This whole school initiative was introduced in mid 2017 with over 90% buy-in by staff. 80% buy-in was required for the program to be implemented. Achieving well over this is indicative of the commitment from all DRSC staff to this initiative.

PBS is a behavior management system used to understand and address challenging behaviour. At each level (or tier) of behaviour, there is an emphasis on outcomes in the form of agreed expectations for both students and staff. PBS uses a consultative approach and the College will involve the whole school community as it progresses to full implementation. DRSC student councillors will be at the forefront of the decision making process. Decisions by the student councillors will then be taken to their peers for consultation to ensure all students have a voice. The DRSC Parents and Citizens Association will also be consulted for community opinion.

If you would like any further information on this new initiative, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
