Youth Workers

Darling Range Sports College is very fortunate to have two Youth Workers on site, Kayla Allen and Justine Hughes.

Justine Hughes – Year 7-9 Youth Worker

Justine is a very passionate Youth Worker who has been working in the industry for over 16 years in many varying roles. She strives to assist all young people in developing their interpersonal skills and attributes and she is a strong advocate for the wellbeing of all students. Her previous positions have included tasks such as seeking accommodation for homeless young people, organizing local government youth programs, mental health awareness and  prevention and aiding in the prevention of homelessness with young people ‘at risk’ while advocating to facilitate their personal, social and educational development.

 

Kayla Allen – Year 10-12 Youth Worker

Kayla is a passionate Youth Worker who strives to assist young people in developing their skills and attributes to make positive changes in their lives.  She has been part of the Gosnell’s City Council and Southern River College over the past 4 years implementing programs, events and mental health awareness, engaging with individuals and groups to facilitate their personal, social and educational development as they make the transition from dependence to independence.

Both Kayla and Justine are available every day between 8.30am to 3.00pm at Student Services.  We encourage parents to email them and make an appointment if necessary.
