Soccer Program

Our specialist Soccer Program provides a unique opportunity for talented male and female soccer players to undergo tactical and technical skills training including fitness, fundamental movement skills, individual skill development, group/team cohesion, strategies and tactics in play. All students have access to indoor facilities for futsal, strength and conditioning programs and the opportunity to gain certificates in coaching and refereeing. Students will also compete in School Sport Western Australia endorsed competitions competing in the Champion Schools Soccer competition against other specialist schools.

What does the program entail?

Our specialist Soccer Program provides a unique opportunity for talented soccer players to effectively combine the pursuit of academic and sporting excellence.

  • 2 hours per week developing their skills in technical and tactical sessions.  2 hours is the highly regarded Athlete Development Program incorporating a focus on diet, nutrition, sports medicine courses, psychology, recovery and rehabilitation, coaching and refereeing.
  • The program is implemented with a full academic curriculum, with the opportunities to gain University Entrance, TAFE entry or complete Certificate III in Sport and Recreation.
  • Opportunities to compete in SSWA Competitions at Zone, Regional and State levels.
  • Opportunities to compete Interstate and overseas.
  • Opportunities to compete in West Coast School Futsal Titles.
  • Formal fitness Assessments conducted by West Australia’s leading sports scientists and formal feedback provided to parents.

Students undergo performance skills training which includes:

  • All players have the opportunity to gain certificates in coaching and refereeing
  • Access to indoor facilities for futsal
  • Strength and conditioning programs

How does the program link to Association/Community Football?

The program has links with Football West and implements the FFA football curriculum for elite development.  All players are required to be members of a Football Club affiliated with Football West.  The program complements programs conducted by all local football associations and clubs.

Represented Western Australia at both Youth and Senior level
Played in the WA NPL with Forrestfield United Soccer Club
Currently play for Forrestfield United Soccer Club State league team
Also represented clubs such as Perth SC, Armadale & Floreat Athena

Selection Process

  • Entry into our specialist Sport Programs is through a selection process.
  • All applicants must complete a physical tryout (Stage 1).
  • If the applicant is successful for Stage 1, we will require copies of the last two (2) school reports to assess your child’s academic and behavioural achievements (Stage 2).
  • If  your child is successful in both stages, they will be offered a position in their chosen program.
  • Written communication will be sent advising the outcome of your child’s application.
